UDC joins InterConnect as open call winners

InterConnect is a leading consortium of 50 European organisations with the goal to develop and demonstrate advanced solutions for connecting and converging digital homes and buildings with the electricity sector. Funded under the Horizon 2020 prorgramme, it brings together seven large-scale testbeds in Portugal, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece and France to support the digitalisation of homes, buildings and electricity grids based on Internet of Things (IoT) architecture.

Following a competitive selection process over the summer that involved 66 applicants from 20 countries, Urban Data Collective was selected as one of the 10 open call winners, gaining access to a 7-month long support programme, which includes up to €150k funding and mentoring in cutting edge technologies.

The programme will allow Urban Data Collective to enhance its service offerings and demonstrate how flexible urban energy management can be achieved at neighborhood and city scale through interoperable real-time data exchange across energy systems, other urban infrastructure and the Internet of Things.

The programme which has officially kicked off during December 2022, will see Urban Data Collective deploy its technologies at pilot sites initially in the UK and later in Belgium.
